A Beauty Unexpected
Roses grew alongside the deck on the north side of the house until the deck collapsed.
We grew ornamental grasses then and built a wider deck.
The grasses fanned out and during summer we watched all the wild things visit.
Drought flattened the grass to straw. Water became scarce.

It grew.
How many years now did I say it was a sucker off the root?
John smiled to predict a blossom
Which it did
Today.
